About catfeed
catfeed is a portal page that works like an RSS reader: the newest articles from the sites you like, side by side on one page. The concept: “a page that shows the day’s news at a glance the moment you open it, plus a cat.” If you remember iGoogle, My Yahoo!, or Netvibes, picture a cat moving into one of them.
A small cat lives on the page.
It always lounges on the box with the newest article, and when a new one arrives, it says “!” and moves over. Wherever the newest article is, you’ll find the cat.
Now and then the cat runs around on its own, naps, plays, and gets up to all sorts of things. Watch and see what it does.
Tap the cat toy icon, and the cat will come chasing after the toy so you can play together.
Add news sites, your favorite blogs, and keywords you’re curious about. I hope you’ll enjoy using catfeed, taking it easy and playing with the cat along the way.
What you can do
- Put the sites you like into boxes, laid out in columns (choose from one to five). Just enter a site’s URL and catfeed finds its RSS feed — or pick from suggestions by category
- Organize topics into pages (tabs)
- Follow Bing News articles for any keyword
- Check the weather box to see whether you need an umbrella today, or if it’s colder than yesterday
- Keep the sites you visit often in a links box, and things you want to remember in a notes box
- Collapse boxes you don’t need at the moment
- Set a photo as the background, and the colors of the whole page adapt to it
- A single-column layout that’s easy to read on phones, plus light and dark modes
- Watch the cat, and play with it
